2009 was a good year for Capoeira in London; many groups/students/individuals came together at various venues to play, exchange and develop their understanding of Capoeira. Strong influences from Marrom, Tatiana, Roberval, Marineiro when visiting and Polako, Pedreiro, Joaosinho, Carlão, Rejane, Relane and all the Amazonas family, Marcio, Julio Sanhaco, Carrapeta, Toca, Ola, Preguiça e amigos, Juliette (Nottingham), Frazer + Lucio (Scotland) and Angoleiros do mar as residents all helped to create rodas with different atmospheres and fascinating games. Recently Bizarro e Dragao arrived; two more additional passionate capoeiristas in the UK – Welcome.

Master Fantasma & Contra Master Pintado – £10
This class will be a new year wake up and preparation for Urban Ritual. Pintado has dedicated a considerable time to learning capoeira and in July “09 Mestre Marrom awarded George/Pintado the Contra Master title. Since living in Brazil Pintado has made a complete return to capoeira – he did get into other fight systems for a while – and with it he can stand strong with his own thinking and vision on Capoeira. I’m happy to have him around in London and take up his offer to do some training; feel welcome to join us for this class wherever you come from.
